What happened
In late April 2025, Novo Nordisk and Hims & Hers announced a partnership to offer branded Wegovy through the telehealth platform. Eight weeks later, Novo ended it.
Novo’s reason
Novo said Hims & Hers continued to sell compounded semaglutide in large volumes, describing it as “personalised.” Novo called this a practice that put patients at risk and broke the spirit of the deal.
The other side
Hims & Hers said it would keep offering patients options and criticised Novo’s approach.
Why it matters
After the shortage ended, the line between legal individual compounding and mass production of copies became the central fight. This was the most public test of where makers draw that line.
